HAPPY TAILS

JANE AUSTIN (formerly Sadie)
Jane Austin was a 5 year old Terrier/Chihuahua mix found wandering down the side of I-35 in April 2007. Animal control took her to a local kill shelter where, after no one had claimed her within that shelter’s minimum holding period, she was scheduled for euthanasia. As the shelter typically does mass euthanization on Tuesdays, PAWS arrives in their van on Mondays to rescue as many animals as possible. The hard reality is that there is simply more room in the van for smaller dogs, allowing more animals to be saved, so 14 pound Jane Austin made the cut.

After being rescued by PAWS, she was chosen as one of the dogs to be available for adoption at the PAWS booth at the Founders Day Festival in Dripping Springs. Although initially taken in by her new family as a foster, her big brown eyes, adorable face-framing ears, and sweet personality quickly changed that classification to “adopted”. She has been a cherished family member (who loves Christmas) for three years now.
