HOW TO HELP
DONATE
If only love could keep the doors open and the dogs and cats fed, sheltered, and healthy! We’ve plenty of love but the world demands money. Caring for the thousands of dogs and cats that pass through our shelter costs hundreds of thousands of dollars and we could sure use your help. A little from everyone can add up to a lot for all. Give now via PayPal (see link, right) or mail your contribution to PAWS, PO Box 695, Dripping Springs, TX 78620.
URGENT NEEDS
Not surprisingly, our most urgent need is always money. But sometimes PAWS needs something big, we need it fast, and you may have just that thing (or the ability to deliver that thing). Here are our current urgent needs:
-
- New A/C window unit
- A cargo van for transporting animals
- Materials and labor to replace and repair the sliding drop doors in the kennel
- Cat porch addition to the current cat room
- 25 Small, 15 Medium, and 15 Large Kurunda beds
- Lowes or Home Depot gift cards for washers and dryers
- Frontline Flea and Tick
VOLUNTEER
Many volunteers enjoy walking the dogs, bathing the dogs, socializing with the dogs and cats, assisting with office duties, or fostering animals who need special care until they can be adopted. Volunteers are also needed to participate in fun seasonal events as well as regular activities held throughout the year. Any time you spend with us helps keep tails wagging and voices purring.
Volunteers…
- Must be 16 years old or older.
- Must complete volunteer application and orientation – DOWNLOAD VOLUNTEER APPLICATION HERE.
- Must make a 3 month minimum commitment.
In addition to volunteering at the shelter, adoption sites, and at events, a fantastic way to help PAWS is to volunteer just a few hours of your time every month at the Village Store thrift shop in Wimberley.
When you volunteer at the Village Store, your hours convert to dollars for PAWS. On average, just one hour spent working at the thrift shop results in $12-$15 going to support PAWS. Just one hour of sorting and straightening pays for a rabies shot and shelter for a day. 2 hours? A cat neuter. 3 hours? A dog neuter or cat spay. 4 hours? A dog spay. 5 hours? Shelter a cat or dog for a week!
Hours are flexible (just depending on when the store is open). Work for 1 hour a month or 8 hours a month. It’s up to you! The Village Store is located at 300 River Road in Wimberley. Store hours are Tuesday – Saturday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm except Thursday when the store stays open to 7:00 pm. If you are interested in volunteering your time at the thrift shop, let us know and we’ll get you on the schedule!
